stuff you need to know

Dear Plone Symposium Midwest Participants:

We’re looking forward to seeing you in Oshkosh during the first week of June!  We have some items below to help you make the best of your experience at PSM 2013:

  • Bring your sweaters/sweatshirts/light jackets to Reeve Union for lunches on June 5 and 6. The campus steam plant shutdown will leave the lunch ballroom temperature in the low 60º's F.
  • We will have passes available for you to use in the UW Oshkosh Student Recreation and Wellness Center and the Albee swimming pool.  We’ll provide details and passes onsite.
  • WiFi will be available to you across campus.
  • Presenters: to get your slides into the streamed and recorded video you will need to use the provided computer because it will have pre-installed on it software to capture what is on screen.  If you choose to use your own computer, viewers will not see good quality captures of what you are showing on screen.
  • Check out the Sprints and Birds of a Feather sessions!
  • Since we will be recording and streaming the Talks portion of PSM 2013 (June 5 & 6), all participants and presenters must sign this video release form [PDF].  Forms will also be available at the registration desk on June 5 for you to sign. If you don't want to be recorded and you are not a presenter, please do not stand in front of a camera when asking questions during any of the sessions.
  • The Plone Symposium Midwest has adopted the Plone Code of Conduct (http://plone.org/foundation/materials/foundation-resolutions/code-of-conduct).
  • There will be an open strategic discussion in the afternoon of Wednesday, June 5, (time to be determined).  We are seeking community-wide input for setting a strategic vision and plan for Plone.
  • You can follow Plone events, discussions, announcement and activities on Twitter.  Please note the hashtag #psm13, and use it early and often! Please use "psm13" for Flickr.
  • If you are flying in to the airport in Appleton (airport code ATW), we will shuttle you from the airport to Oshkosh.  Please go to our website and fill out and submit the Shuttle Pick-Up/Drop-Off form at: https://midwest.plonesymp.org/shuttle

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to email me at [email protected].  See you soon!

Sincerely,
